TRENT REZNOR Performs First Solo Show At Benefit

Launch Radio Networks reports: NINE INCH NAILS mastermind Trent Reznor played the first solo show of his career on Saturday night (October 21) at Neil Young's Bridge School Benefit outside San Francisco, according to Billboard.com. Reznor was backed only by a four-piece string section as he played subdued versions of NINE INCH NAILS tracks such as "Piggy", "The Fragile" and "Hurt". The two-night event, which concluded on Sunday (October 22),also featured appearances by PEARL JAM, FOO FIGHTERS, DEATH CAB FOR CUTIE and Young himself, who played two sets the first night and jammed with some of the other acts throughout the evening.

Saturday night's festivities came to a close with FOO FIGHTERS' Dave Grohl and PEARL JAM's Eddie Vedder joining Young on "Rockin'in the Free World".

Young joined PEARL JAM earlier in the show for the first-ever complete band live performance of "Throw Your Hatred Down" from 1995's "Mirror Ball", a joint album between Young and the group.

Other artists who performed included BRIAN WILSON, GILLIAN WELCH and the DAVE MATTHEWS BAND.

Performances by more than 70 artists from previous Bridge School shows will be sold on iTunes beginning on November 14.

The Bridge School Benefit raises funds for the Bridge School, a Bay Area educational facility for students with severe speech and physical impairments. Young's wife, Pegi, co-founded the school. The couple's son Ben was born with cerebral palsy.
